  • Understand some of the characteristics of Baby Boomers that are important to us as fundraisers

Bringing it Back from Near Death! How Annual Giving Programs Can Be Revived
3:00 p.m. – 4:15 p.m.

How many of us have entered a development department with a floundering Annual Giving program? It's rare that we take over a program that is on its way up! Starting an Annual Giving Program from scratch often can be easier than breathing life back into an existing one. Bringing it Back from Near Death! is a session that will demonstrate ways in which Annual Giving programs have been resuscitated. Stephen Mally has found ways to slow attrition and used creative solutions to acquire donors, repeat gifts, and upgrades from constituencies. Walk out of this session with ideas you can implement immediately and with some longer-term strategies that will make you a hero.

Learning Points:

  • Leave the session with two to three new ideas that might breath new life into their annual giving program in their healthcare, cultural, educational or social service organization
  • Hear about lessons learned as Stephen implemented new strategies at Lahey Clinic over a five year period, taking the program from $200,000 to $1.7 million in annual revenue
  • Learn the importance of testing each and every idea – no matter how strong of an idea they think they have!

Speaker(s): Lawrence Henze, Managing Director, Target Analysis Group

NOTE: All DMA08 attendees are eligible to attend. Or, to attend Nonprofit Day on Monday only, separate registration is required with a fee of $699.
